Frozen Berry Lemonade

With just 3 ingredients, you can’t beat how easy this recipe is. Just frozen mixed berries, raspberry lemonade and your sweetener of choice are all it takes to blend up this delicious and refreshing warm weather treat. Yum!

Who doesn’t love frozen drinks in the summer? You guys, this is one of the easiest and tastiest drinks to whip up really quick.

I made this for this adorable 4th of July picnic in my back yard. It was so fun to set everything up, but I really wanted the food and drinks to be special. This tastes like something you’d get in a smoothie shop, but you can make it yourself.

I always prefer making things myself because I know exactly what’s in it. We’re a family of food and additive sensitivities so it’s comforting to know there’s nothing hidden in what we eat and drink.

Ingredients

Frozen Mixed Berries

You can buy any frozen mixed berries you like. I prefer strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Sometimes the bag will include blackberries. Whatever you get will taste great.

Raspberry Lemonade

I haven’t tried this with plain lemonade, but I would bet that it’s just as tasty. The Simply brand lemonades are my favorite.  Not only do they have the best ingredients, but they taste the better than any others I’ve tried. I used the Raspberry Lemonade because that’s what I happened to have that day.

Sugar

I don’t use a lot of refined white sugar in most of my recipes, but there’s already sugar in the lemonade so I figured a little more wouldn’t be that terrible. You can substitute any sweetener you prefer.

How to Prepare (change this title accordingly)

Add all 3 ingredients to a good, powerful blender and blend until you like the consistency.

Personally, I like it less on the frozen side and more on the juicy side. But you can do it however you like.

If your blender lets you down and you find yourself in the market for something better, a commercial grade blender like this Vitamix won’t disappoint. I’ve had mine for a few years and it’s one of the most used appliances in my kitchen.

Serving Suggestions for Frozen Berry Lemonade

Make an Adult Version

It’s always nice to have fun drinks for the whole family, but if you’re looking for something a little more grown up, try adding  1 and 1/2 ounces (give or take) of gin per serving. You could also use rum. If you want to be really fancy, try a splash of Chambord.

Make it Smoother

Next time, I think I’ll try adding more lemonade for a thinner consistency and serving it over ice. It’s going to taste amazing either way. Enjoy!
