Mango Carrot Citrus Smoothie
Smoothies can sometimes be filled with added sugar and other unhealthy ingredients. This smoothie is healthy, has no processed sugar, and is loaded with energy boosting fruits and veggies.
“How can I get my kids to eat more fruits and vegetables?” This age-old question asked by parents around the world has been answered with the modern invention of the blender.
This Mango Carrot Citrus Smoothie recipe is refreshing and packed with antioxidants. If you’re looking to lose weight or just have a little more energy, this smoothie is just the thing to get you going. I suffer from that little thing called mom brain. It’s a miracle when I can blog without brain fog and after drinking this smoothie this morning, I actually feel more energized and clear-headed.
But speaking of kids, I believe it’s important to offer your children a varied diet from the time they’re first able to eat solid foods. They need to experience textures and flavors of foods in their natural state.
Even if you deserve the mom of the year award for the wide array of fresh fruits and veggies you provide to your littles, sometimes kids just don’t want to eat them and no tactic in the world is going to make them. Thankfully, I don’t have too much trouble getting my 2 year old to eat fruit.
Veggies can be a challenge, though. I keep offering them so they don’t become a mystery to him. But I’m not opposed to sneaking them into yummy things I know he’ll eat or drink, just to make sure he’s getting enough nutrients.

Ingredients:
Apples
You can use any apples for this. My favorites are gala and pink ladies, but any will work. If you have any that are a bit mealy, this is the perfect use for them so they don’t go to waste.
Agave or Dates
You can use either one here and it will taste awesome. I always prefer to use dates and avoid sugar whenever possible, especially in things like smoothies. A smoothie should be good for you, not have the illusion of being healthy while containing lots of hidden sugar.
The Blender
I’m a little bit of a blender snob, I’ll admit. I love my Vitamix. If you don’t have a great blender, you need one. Of course you can still make a smoothie with any blender, but but the end result may have a little more texture than you prefer.
